Jim Hammond Claims His 1st CENTURY Title
Sandlin is generally a great lake to be on during the spawning season. The

winds, but I did feel a little better after crossing Fork, Tawakoni and
Ray Hubbard, on the way home, and seeing the rollers on those lakes. At

started out with air temperatures in the high 60’s and when the sun
finally popped out we climbed to the low 80’s.
The water temperature was around 70 degrees in most of the areas I
fished and the winds were from the south and gusty at 15-35 mph.
The water was slightly stained, but not muddy and the fish seemed

averaging 2.07 per fish. Jim Hammond brought in a 5 fish limit, with a
5.73 lb. kicker to anchor his winning weight of 12.57 lbs.
His partner for the day, Carey Gajdica, weighed in 3 fish at 4.78
lbs., which gave Jim and Carey the heavy boat of the day with 17.35 lbs.
combined. Congratulations Jim on your first Century win.
Cole, a Century Bass Club legend, finished 2nd with a 5 fish

Smith fishing his first Century tournament of the year turned in a
performance worthy of 3rd place with 10.79 lbs.
4th – 6th place went to Robert Hargrove
with 5 fish at 9.95 lbs., Randy Kvapil – 5 fish at 9.18 lbs., and Mike
Adam – 4 fish at 8.60 lbs. Big Bass honors went to Bernie Gajdica with fine 6.38 lb.
fish. Good job Bernie.
Also worthy of mention was Robert Hargrove’s performance on
Saturday at this same lake. Robert won the B.A.S.S. Federation tournament
with a heavy limit that went over 18 lbs.!
are also in order for Bill Ferguson who just completed his fishing season
on the B.A.S.S. Central Division Invitational Trail. Bill finished in 89th
