Jon Harshbarger used a one-two punch of jigs and lizards in
the grass to take 1st place at Centuryís April 3 tournament held on Ray Hubbard.
Jonís 5-fish limit weighing 16.43 lbs were caught in water 4' or less and earned
him $352 as well as an additional $80 for his half of the heavy boat pot. Paul
Jones, Jonís partner for the day, collected $80, but the talk was Paul rode
Jonís coattails by not catching a keeper. Iím sure Paulís net skills most
definitely contributed to Jonís successójust teasiní ya, Paul. Way to go guys!
Second place, for the second tournament in a row, when to Brett Kilmer with the only other limit that day. Brettís 5 keepers totaled 10.08 lbs and were caught off rocks using worms. Brett pocketed $252 for his day on the water.
Paul Zukosky, absent the first 3 tournaments of 2005 due to surgery, served notice to the membership by nailing down 3rd place worth $151. Paulís 4 fish for 9.15 lbs were caught using a Carolina rigged water/purple Baby Brush Hog in 12'-15' of water. Welcome back, Paul. We have missed you!!
Fourth place went to Jim Hammond with 2 fish for 8.45 lbs. Jimís spinner bait thrown along rip rap was responsible for his wallet being heavier on his ride home to the tune of $111.
The 2004 Angler of the Year, Robert Hargrove, took 5th place honors and $81 for his 3 fish at 7.61 lbs. Three guesses what Robert was using and the first 2 donít count!
Second year member, Johnny Walker, is rapidly climbing the ranks in the club as demonstrated by his recent showingsónot only with Century, but at the Federation level as well. Although Johnny only managed one keeper, it never hurts to nab a 7-pounderÖ7.13 lbs to be exact! Johnnyís 6th place finish and toad of the tournament was good for a combined payday of $221. Nice fish Johnny!
The first place out-of-the-money tackle pack went to new member Eric Burton with 3 nice fish weighing 6.98 lbs; and the free entry drawing went to Mike Adam.
There were 46 bass caught by 34 anglers for a total weight of 120.61 lbs and a 2.62 lb average

Congratulations to Nick, Holly, and Bianca Carroccio on the arrival of their new angel, Sydney Nicole. Sydney arrived on March 28 and tipped the scales at 8.2 lbs and was 20″ long. I have it on good authority from proud Papa Nick that Sydney is truly an ďAngel.Ē
My sincere apologies to Century member, Jim Linderer, for failing to include him in last monthís newsletter in regards to Century membersí results at the 2005 State Championship. I must have had a total brain lapse because Jim was on the State Team and I was his teammate on this team!! Jim finished in 99th place out of 252 anglers with 7.23 lbs. Great job Jim, and please forgive my error.
