Hammond "Slips Under" for the Win at Cypress
Jim Hammond slipped a
Fluke under a few choice docks and captured top honors at Century’s August 28
night tournament held at Cypress Springs. Although
Jim was 2 fish short of a 5-fish limit, it never hurts to have a 6-lber in your
weigh-in bag—6.08 lbs to be precise! Jim also used a “Pop R” during the night to snag a
keeper. Jim took home not only 1st
place money of $284 for his 10.52 lb sack, but Big Bass money of $110 and
heavy boat money of an additional $110 for a grand total of $504.
Second place and $175 went to the big man, Coy Frazier. Coy weighed in 4 fish at 9.64 lbs for his night long efforts. His fish came on spinnerbaits and buzz baits.
Dusty Richards was the 3rd
place finisher with 4 fish weighing 9.42 lbs caught on baby brush hogs and buzz
baits. Dusty pocketed $108 for his
3 ˝ hours of fishing…that’s right! Seems Dusty waited until 4:00 a.m. to start putting keepers
in the boat. Just teasing, Dusty.
Century Treasurer and long-time member, Paul Zukosky, took the final 4th place check of $63 for the only limit brought in by the 23 members that fished. Paul’s fish tipped the scales at 8.50 lbs.
Mike Stewart was the winner of the 1st Place Out of the Money tackle pack as well as the free entry drawing.
The 23 members weighed
in 49 bass at 106.57 lbs and a 2.17 lb average during a night that was picture
