Captures 2004
Century Bass Club Classic
Jon Harshbarger captured Century’s 2004
Championship held on Bob Sandlin, October 30 & 31 with a fine 2-day bag of 7
bass for 18.60 lbs. Jon also took big bass honors on Saturday with a nice bass
just under 4 pounds to add an additional $100 to the $416 1st Place check. Jon
caught fish on a Rico early, but his main producer was a Carolina–rigged Lake
Fork Creature and a Zoom Centipede fishing along grass-line edges in 10′-12′ of
water. Congratulations, Jon!
Second place went to Coy Frazier who was the only angler to bring in limits both
days. Coy’s 2-day total of 10 bass weighed in at 18.09 lbs. and were caught on a
Carolina-rigged watermelon and green/pumpkin Zoom Centipede in 10′-12′ of water
for a $268 payday!
Wally Hughey, the winner of last month’s final tournament for 2004 at Grapevine,
continued his hot streak and took 3rd place with 9 bass over 2 days for 14.0l
lbs. and pocketed $218. Wally’s fish came on a Carolina-rigged Lake Fork
Creature in 12′-18′ of water.
“Easy going” Ernie Jordan was the winner of Sunday’s big bass pot with a nice
5.09 lb. bass and collected $100 for his nice catch.
Although the weather was decent and most everyone reported catching scores of
bass, the 14-inch limit was elusive. There were 77 bass weighed in by 18 members
for a total of 141.20 lbs. and a 1.83-lb average.
