Win On Pines
Jon Harshbarger continued his strong
showing in 2005 by winning his third of Century’s first six tournaments. His
5-fish limit at Century’s May 22 tournament for 17.11 lbs was caught on Pop R’s,
Jigs, and a Carolina Rig. Jon started with an early limit on the top water bait
but culled all those first fish with the jigs and “c” rig. Jon’s fish came from
12 -13' depths and earned him a check for $240.
Second place went to Johnny Walker with 5 fish totaling 14.13 lbs caught on frogs from the north end of Pines. Johnny’s partner, Paul Zukosky, stated John caught most of his fish in the first half hour from one spot. Johnny claimed $150 for the second place finish as well as $42.50 for half of the heavy boat weight.
Wally Hughey captured 3rd place money of $91 for his nice limit for 11.87 lbs. Wally utilized a watermelon baby brush hog Carolina rig in water 8-16' deep.
The final check of $54 went to Bill Kessler for his limit at 11.27 lbs. Bill’s fish came on a Carolina rigged bubble gum trick worm 8' deep.
Paul Zukosky captured big bass honors with a fine 7.41 lb bass. Paul’s fish came on a frog from the north end of Pines and paid $85 as well as an additional $42.50 for his half of the heavy boat pot.
Winner of the first place out-of-the-money tackle pack was Joe Thompson and Bill Kessler was the winner of the free entry drawing.
There were 38 bass caught by 20 anglers for a total weight of 97.45 lbs for a 2.56 lb average.
