Paul Jones Tops on Texoma
In his first tournament as a boater, Paul Jones, served notice by winning a tough tournament held October 16 on Lake Texoma with 2 fish for 4.35 lbs. In an event where over half of the 21 angler field failed to catch a keeper, Paulís patience with a Sweet Potato Pie Sinko was well rewarded to the tune of $255. Congratulations, Paul!
Second place and $158 went to Century Treasurer, Paul Zukosky, with 2 fish for 3.67 lbs. Paulís fish were caught on a plum worm (loaned to him by Yours Truly) and a Jig Head tipped with a watermelon/purple glitter Zoom 6″ worm in over 20′ of water.
Eric Burton was Texomaís 3rd place winner and took big bass honors with 1 nice fish at 3.36 lbs. using a pumpkin/chartreuse Finesse worm on a drop-shot rig. Ericís payday totaled $246 for his 3rd place finish, big bass money, and his half of the heavy boat pot split with his partner for the day and 4th place winner, Century President Nick Carroccio, who took home a total of $108 using the same bait and drop-shot rig to nab 2 nice fish totaling 3.23 lbs.
First place out-of-the-money tackle pack winner was Bill Kessler with 2 fish for 3.09 lbs. and Marcus Fowler was the winner of the free entry drawing.
There were 12 bass caught by 21 anglers for a total weight of 22.53 lbs for a 1.88 lb average.
