Photos

Details:  Date:  September 10th, 2006.  Times:  Launch, “Safe Light”.  Weigh-In, 3:30 P.M.  Ramp: Lake Cypress Springs Marina.

Conditions:  Warm but comfortable.  The low temperature was around 68, with a high near 92.  The relative humidity was low keeping any heat index minimal.  Winds were East at 3-7mph.  Water temps varied in the mid 80’s.

Results:  First place:  Despite having engine problems upon take-off, Jon Harshbarger still managed 5 fish weighing 13.17 pounds.  Jon used crankbaits and spinnerbaits in 8 feet of water near grass to secure his winning limit.  Jon’s largest fish weighed 3.53 pounds and he earned $308.00 for the win.

Second place:  Mike Vasquez also brought 5 fish to the weigh-in for a combined weight of 11.50 pounds.  Mike said he “threw the kitchen sink at them”, using a combination of jigs, finesse worms, Texas-rigs and a topwater to take second place.  Mike’s second place prize was worth $220.00.

Third place:  Bill Burleson took the third place prize of $132.00 by using senkos, flukes, grubs and a jig to bring 5 fish to the scales weighing 11.03 pounds.  His largest fish weighed in at 2.71 pounds.

Fourth place:  Robert Hargrove relied on his patented “Chicken Rig” to weigh 5 fish totaling 10.61 pounds.  This tournament’s fourth place prize was $97.00.

Fifth place:  Jay Stewart weighed his first limit with Century.  His 5 fish totaled 10.01 pounds and were anchored by a 4.09 pound fish.  His fish were caught using crankbaits and Carolina-rigged flukes which earned him $71.00 for fifth place. Also, an additional $140.00 was split with his boater, Paul Zukosky, for the "Heavy Stringer Pot."  Their combined catch topped out at 19.40 pounds and earned Jay $141.00 in total winnings.

Sixth place:  Club President Nick Carroccio weighed 5 fish for 9.83 pounds which was enough to secure the sixth place prize of $54.00.  Nick contributed his catch to his “Skeeter Red” shorts.  Yes, his “Skeeter Red” shorts.

“First Place Out-Of-The-Money”:  Club Treasurer, Paul Zukosky, brought 4 fish to the scales weighing 9.39 pounds.  Paul also took home $70.00 for his half of the “Heavy Stringer Pot” (shared with Jay Stewart).

“Big Bass”:  Ernie “E.J.” Jordan landed a nice 4.29 pound toad on a trick worm and took home the tournament’s “Big Bass” prize of $140.00.

This Tournament’s Free Entry Drawing Prize went to Paul Pierce.
